50 NAFDAC stores in Kaduna are closed

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has closed fifty establishments in Kaduna State for selling edible oil in an unclean environment.

The operation was a component of a dealer sensitization program that included food management and registration processes.

This was revealed in a statement that was published on Saturday on the agency’s X account.

In an effort to reduce any possible health hazards related to contamination, NAFDAC has closed fifty locations in Kaduna for distributing edible oil in an unsanitary manner, as stated in the announcement by Mrs. Josephine Dayilim, Director of the North-West Zonal Office.

She states, “The risks of food poisoning, gastroenteritis, and even cancer due to inadequate processing and corrosive equipment, emphasising the dangers of consuming oil processed in unsanitary environments.”

In order to guarantee customer safety, the director emphasized the significance of utilizing food-grade products and upholding clean production conditions.

Among the 1,321 patent medicine outlets in Kano’s Sabon Gari open market, NAFDAC raided and sealed them as part of its duty to clean up unwholesome pharmaceutical practices by the dealers.
